Terms of use
These terms describe the conditions for using the Autism Allyship Foundation website and linked services.
Scope of these terms
These terms apply to the use of the Autism Allyship Foundation website, related public pages, and the information, resources, and services made available through it.
The website is operated by Active Autism & Neuro-Diversity Allyship Foundation.
Active Autism & Neuro-Diversity Allyship Foundation (AANDAF), known as the Autism Allyship Foundation NPC. NPC registration number 2023/657319/08.
Acceptable use
Visitors may use the website for lawful purposes and for learning about, connecting with, supporting, or participating in the work described on the site.
You agree not to use the website to upload, share, or distribute harmful, unlawful, abusive, or misleading material. You must not interfere with the security, operation, or performance of the site, or attempt to access parts of the site or systems that are not intended for public use.
Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, content made available through the website may be protected by copyright, trade mark, or other intellectual property rights. Where content is supplied by third parties or contributors, ownership and permitted use may belong to those parties.
The content of this website, including its text, layout, graphics and code, belongs to the Active Autism & Neuro-Diversity Allyship Foundation or to the people who licensed it to the foundation, and is protected by the Copyright Act 98 of 1978. Photographs of events belong to the foundation or to the photographers who took them.
You may view and share public materials for personal, informational, and community use, but you should not copy, republish, or reuse protected content without permission from the Foundation or the relevant rights holder.
Resource directory and non-endorsement
The resource directory lists available services, organisations, and information for public reference. Listing a resource would not mean that the Foundation endorses, recommends, guarantees, certifies, or takes responsibility for that organisation or service.
People should consider each resource on its own merits and check the provider's information before acting on it. The website is a directory and information source, not an assurance or approval service.
No medical or professional advice
Information provided through this website, including resource information, event information, community information, and educational material, is for general informational purposes only. It is not medical, clinical, therapeutic, legal, financial, or other professional advice.
The website does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment, or clinical advice. If you need professional help, speak to a qualified professional who is appropriate to your situation.
Limitation of liability
Information on the website may be incomplete, inaccurate or unavailable at times, and the website may experience errors or interruptions.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the final terms may limit liability for loss arising from use of the website. They cannot exclude liability where applicable law does not allow an exclusion.
Events and tickets
Event details are provided for information and planning purposes. Information, event details, and website availability may change. Where changes are made, the website may be updated accordingly.
Ticket terms depend on the event and are subject to the Foundation's approved event information and ticket process. Ticket validity and transfer are based on the project design, which allows a ticket link to be shared and used by the person who holds the valid link at the time of entry, subject to the relevant event arrangements and any approved ticketing rules.
Registration is free. Where an event has a cost, it is paid to the foundation directly rather than through this website. See returns, refunds and cancellations below.
External links and third-party services
This website may link to external websites, social media pages, payment systems, resource directories, and information services. These links are provided for convenience only.
External websites and services are operated by their respective providers. Their content, availability, terms, and privacy practices may differ from this website, so visitors should review the information those providers make available before using them.
The website uses Firebase and Cloudflare integrations. Brevo may process transactional email where email delivery is configured. Payments are made by electronic transfer directly to the foundation, so no payment gateway is involved and no card details are handled by this website.
Returns, refunds and cancellations
Merchandise is ordered through the foundation's WhatsApp catalogue and paid for by electronic transfer. The rights set out below are given to you by law. They apply whether or not they appear here, they cannot be signed away, and nothing on this website limits them.
Changing your mind
Under section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, where you order goods electronically you may cancel without giving a reason and without penalty within seven days of receiving them. If you cancel, you return the goods and the foundation refunds you within 30 days. You are responsible for the cost of returning the goods.
Goods that are faulty, unsafe or not as described
Under section 56 of the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, goods carry an implied warranty of quality. If within six months of delivery the goods are found to be faulty, unsafe, or not what was described, you may return them at the foundation's cost and choose whether to have them repaired, replaced or refunded. You do not have to accept a repair if you asked for a refund.
Section 55 of the same Act gives you the right to goods that are reasonably suitable for their purpose, of good quality, in good working order and free of defects.
How to return something
Contact the foundation on info@autismallyship.org or +27 66 385 9936, or through the contact page. Say what you ordered, when it arrived and what is wrong with it. Refunds are paid back to the account the payment came from.
Donations
A donation is a gift rather than a consumer transaction, so the cooling-off right above does not apply to it. If you donate in error, or send the wrong amount, contact the foundation and it will arrange to return the money.
The foundation cannot currently issue section 18A tax certificates, so donations to it are not tax deductible.
Event tickets
Registration for an event is free. Where an event has a cost, that amount is collected by the foundation directly, by electronic transfer or in cash at the event, and never through this website or the app. If an event is cancelled or moved by the foundation, any amount already paid for it is refunded in full. If you cannot attend an event you have paid for, contact the foundation before the event and it will refund or transfer your place where the arrangements for that event allow.
Website availability and content changes
Information, design, content and availability may change as the website evolves.
The website may be unavailable or experience problems from time to time.
Privacy
The Privacy policy describes how this website handles personal information.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa, and the courts of South Africa have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. Nothing in these terms removes any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 or the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013, and where these terms conflict with one of those Acts, the Act applies.
Contact
If you have questions about these terms, please contact the Foundation through the contact page or use the contact details provided on the website.
